New Zealand Rugby has officially launched All Blacks Performance Labs, an executive coaching programme with the ambitious goal of unlocking the extraordinary talents that exist within everyone.
The programme, built on the 120-year legacy of performance across the All Blacks, Black Ferns, and wider Teams in Black, is set to provide executives and organisations with the framework and tools needed to accelerate the performance of their own teams.
All Blacks Performance Labs has been developed in conjunction with NZR’s Executive Coaching partner, Propel Performance Group. The programme combines insights from some of the world’s most successful teams with Propel Performance Group’s methodology, honed through eight years studying and spending time with high performing teams, from boardrooms to surgeons, to world champion athletes and elite soldiers.
Richard Thomas, New Zealand Rugby Commercial Chief Executive Officer sees huge opportunity in sharing the knowledge and skills of the Teams in Black and wider organisations management, coaching, and playing group.
“We are uniquely positioned, with market leading knowledge, coaches, players and material to help organisations across the world and locally understand the characteristics that make up championship teams, create a strong team culture and deepen connections.”
“The All Blacks Performance Lab experiences have been designed alongside the team at Propel Performance Group to fit a variety of needs, from long-term coaching journeys for senior leaders to full day high performing team workshops for large organisations.”
While there is huge opportunity to deliver All Blacks Performance Labs on an international scale, Thomas adds that bringing the learnings back to New Zealand and exploring how this could work for the young people of Aotearoa is also a key motivation, and plans are being worked on to enable that.
Simon Curran, Propel Performance Group Co-founder, says the combination of Propel Performance Group’s methodology with the high performing talent from the wider All Blacks environment is what sets this executive coaching experience apart.
“The All Blacks environment has shaped high performance experts who are globally sought after, including Gilbert Enoka (All Blacks), Sir John Kirwan (All Blacks), Sean Fitzpatrick (All Blacks), Allan Bunting (Black Ferns & Black Ferns Sevens), Kendra Cocksedge (Black Ferns), Sarah Hirini (Black Ferns) and Dan Carter (All Blacks).
“Bringing this calibre of talent to our executive coaching experiences has already seen game-changing benefits within the leadership teams we’ve been trialling this with, from Air New Zealand locally to SAP globally,” said Curran.
